Registration & Training Information : September 2021
Our season will start on Sunday 5th September and will continue until May 2022.
This year due to COVID-19 restrictions we will require all junior players to be registered on ClubZap prior to them coming to their first training session. This is is in line with Hockey Ireland’s Return to Play protocols. Anyone who can’t make the beginning of the season is welcome to join later, but must register prior to their first training session.
We are always keen to increase our Junior Boys & Girls membership so please encourage anyone to come along & give hockey a try !
Times below for each age group. These times may change slightly to allow for staggered drop off and pick up and cleaning protocols. Bring your sticks, gum shields, shin guards and a good pair of runners. If you are just starting hockey and don’t have a stick, we will lend you one for your first session until you get your own.
Our annual membership fee for the Junior Section is €150.
(Discounts, where applicable, are available when paying fees on CLubZap)

BOYS & GIRLS CALENDAR
A full season calendar for Boys & Girls is available on the calendar tab. This is updated each month, showing both friendly matches, league matches, and blitzs.
It will be the end of September before we have a calendar of matches for all groups.
COMMUNICATION VIA CLUBZAP MESSAGE / EMAIL
Parents are advised of any matches via ClubZap or email earlier in the week. If there is regular training as per above, you will get a ClubZap training notification message.
ClubZap messages or emails will be sent if training/matches are cancelled.
So unless you receive a ClubZap message or email assume training/matches are going ahead.
EQUIPMENT FOR TRAINING & MATCHES
Please ensure your child has the following: gum shield (players will not play without one); shin guards, and, good runners. If your child arrives wearing plimsoles or canvas shoes they will not be allowed to play. Good runners will ensure they do not slip on the astro surface and if they do get hit by a ball the runner will protect their feet. We have also noted a few children wearing football boots. These are not suitable for the astro turf surface and could cause your child to twist their ankle. Please ensure hair is tied back & that all jewellery, including watches, are removed.
To assist with our guidelines around COVID-19 we ask that children arrive at the pitch ready to play with shin guards on and just their stick and clearly marked water bottle.
MATCHES
Leinster have a competitive league for all players from 6th Class on. We have a number of teams competing;
U12’s 6th class, U13’s 1st years; U14’s 2nd years; U16’s 3rd & 4th years. All younger age groups play friendly blitz matches 4/ 6 or 8 a-side with other clubs during the season. The friendly matches will be on Sunday mornings across Dublin and we would urge you to encourage your child to attend. Only by playing regular matches and coming to training frequently will improvement be seen.
Please ensure that your child has the correct Club Uniform for matches. This can be purchased through our ClubZap Shop and collected on Sunday mornings.
